Banner Image

I want to have a temporary banner sized to width of theme (will most likely create a image sized about 960 x 100 px), placed right over the container (includes sidebar).

What is the recommendation for doing this? Widget, which one? HTML Insertion > Container Top?

Decided to use an image in the Advanced Options > HTML Insertion > Container Top

I would like to get rid of the blank space above the container and below the menu bar. How can I do this?

Add an inline zero margin to your image to remove the default one

Tagging another question to this thread… Is there any way to make the image NOT shrink so much on mobile? If this was a picture, it would still be responsive, but would be bigger.

You need to remove the dead space in your image, right now you image includes white space on each side to it has no choice but scale.

I made it a transparent image (700 x70px). But it still doesn’t look right on mobile. Is there a way I can provide a smaller image (500 x 50px) if mobile?

You nee to be more specific. What do you mean by does not look right?

If you mean you would like a different image with text on two lines so it is not too small, you can insert two different images using the [show_if] shortcode that allows you to select what device the content shows up on
