The fact that the issue occurs with some sites but not others points to a plugin being the cause, rather than the theme. For example, as a first step, you could review the plugins installed across all your sites and see if the sites exhibiting the issue have a common plugin that isn’t installed on the sites which work fine. If so, test by temporarily deactivating that plugin on the problem sites and see if the issue goes away.
