I need to look into the details and follow your suggestions. However, on the surface, the examples where I commented out the bracketed areas and not the selectors are a result of me adding CSS to the Main Option pages and then commented them out.
As an example, on the Main Option > Wrapping Areas I have:

Current Base Font Size: 16px. Change on Custom Tab
This was my way of trying different styles without deleting the commands. I did not enter these codes into the Custom CSS Rule box. As I said, the CSS rule box only has one command currently:
#content nav a {font-weight:normal;}
With this said, unless I delete the custom CSS on the Main Option pages, I don’t believe I can control how the system comments out my styles.
I will go through all of these comments to ensure I have them commented out with the /*- */
Please let me know if I should delete the commented out styles from the Main Options pages or if there is something else I could do to keep the styles there, but not active.
