scrambler your tip about the code to get circle thumbnails worked, I am thrilled! I adapted it a tiny bit. What I did was first to figure out the page ID etc – had to research that but found out I didn’t need that if I just put the rest of the code like you said right on the one page, using PLUS, where there is a field called “Per Page Style.” Since i was right on that page I didn’t need the page ID so i put in the code you said (testing why the first time it didn’t work) like this: .featured-image {border-radius:50%;} and that did work. So now the circle thumbnails are there, and they click thru to the post the way i wanted them to. The Plus version of Weaver xtreme has been really helpful to me.
I am thinking about what weaver said about testing various file sizes for speed download etc. I am not sure the best way to test, but one way is to make duplicate pages or twin pages somehow – with the smaller images and one big. And have Google Analytics on the site or some stats system. And to see how long each of those pages takes to load, and how long people stay on the page. There are variables that would mess up the test such as if one page has better links to it or better words, but there must be a way to do a good test and track it for a while.
Bob – For work flow we do use dropbox for images and text. It is just time consuming work and my client wants to learn and is pretty sharp. I’ve worked with her for about 18 years on different things and never met her. I am going to use your tip to not put my art work too big online. I also sometimes draw a line through it. I know there is a better way to tag it restricted. Your photos were really nice and worked for me. I left a comment there too.
I really appreciate all the help. I get so frustrated some times when things don’t work and i forget I could ask here at the forum. I try to do my homework first, then say what I tried on my own and what happened. I think we got two issues solved here, maybe a third one about testing. And maybe a fourth about rights to use images. The discussion has helped. I’ll come back and close this in a day or two unless someone else has an image question that fits in this thread. It is nice in one way to have images tips all together and the one challenge about circles (which was a side issue anyway) is solved nicely. Thank you.
