First I had a problem when updating WordPress to 4.6, it lost all my WordPress settings.
To fix the issue I had to Activate a different theme (like 2013), Then Activate Xtreme back.

So you may want to try that.

You say you are unable to create a Custom Field. Can you explain exactly what you are trying to do and how you are doing it?
