Yes, any new site should use Xtreme, Xtreme uses the same logic as weaver II so you will be at ease, but it is the future, is easier and more powerful.
At one point you will also need to convert your Weaver II sites to Xtreme, but there is no immediate need for that, and there is a complete tutorial on how to convert in the Xtreme Tutorial section.
