Actually, there are redirection plugins that can create the necessary redirects.

So, create the category page (s) using a Weaver Xtreme page based on the “page with posts” template, and set it for that category using masonry format..

Then use the redirection plugin to redirect the WordPress category tag(s) to the newly created page(s)
